“Economic response to rural women impacted by COVID 19 in Nakhchivan AR” project
Azerbaijan Micro-finance Associaiton (AMFA) started implementation of “Economic response to rural women impacted by COVID 19 in Nakhchivan AR“ project, which is the part of a broader program on Promoting the Role of Civil Society in Gender-sensitive Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals funded by the European Union, co-funded and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The objective of proposed action is to minimize the economic damage, support rural women (including women with disabilities) in obtaining income during COVID – 19 crises and begin looking towards a post coronavirus phase.
The project will help over 25 women from rural communities, including women with disabilities, will be acknowledged with important safety measures in fighting with COVID 19, improve their business proficiency, access to financial resources and organizational skills. Women participating in the project will further receive seed funding in the amount of USD 525 each to establish business startups in Nakhchivan AR.
Supporting Azerbaijan’s commitment to accelerate the achievement of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the project will contribute to the implementation of SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and well-being, SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
